some good news

The boss called me last night to say that the CEO has OKed my full raise (which isn't so much a raise as it is a redress of last year's dicking-over: after a year of waiting, I'll finally be paid what I'd been initially promised). This means I don't have to change anything on my budget, which is nice. One more major hurdle remains: getting the HR department to sign off on the raise. HR apparently told my boss that they'd go with whatever the CEO said, so I don't foresee any problems. HR's nihil obstat ought to be a mere formality.

From what I've heard, the contract will be for two years this time around, which is fine by me. After this year's raise, I haven't assumed any further raises through 2019. If I were to get a raise upon renewal in 2018, that would be a pleasant surprise.
