some good news

The boss called me last night to say that the CEO has OKed my full raise (which isn't so much a raise as it is a redress of last year's dicking-over: after a year of waiting, I'll finally be paid what I'd been initially promised). This means I don't have to change anything on my budget, which is nice. One more major hurdle remains: getting the HR department to sign off on the raise. HR apparently told my boss that they'd go with whatever the CEO said, so I don't foresee any problems. HR's nihil obstat ought to be a mere formality.

From what I've heard, the contract will be for two years this time around, which is fine by me. After this year's raise, I haven't assumed any further raises through 2019. If I were to get a raise upon renewal in 2018, that would be a pleasant surprise.

  1. Great news! Glad to hear that the Great Dickening will be amended.

  2. halleluja! its the birthday miracle of 2016! im very happy for you! great that your boss / company came through!

  3. This is great news and must have made your birthday all the better.

  4. Charles, Hahna, Henry, and Brier,

    Thanks, all. Much appreciated.
