I thought the filmic "Dune" was going to wrap up as a two-parter, but director Denis Villeneuve is visualizing his films as a trilogy covering the entire life of Paul Atreides (who dies over the course of the series of novels by Frank Herbert). This means covering more than just Dune because Paul's story doesn't truly end until the next novel—Dune: Messiah. I haven't read Dune: Messiah, but the video below contends it's an even more explicit warning about saviors, who can lead their people to damnation instead of to glory. While it's painful to hear Villeneuve wants to stretch his story into a three-film arc, I trust his ability to give us an amazing narrative, so I'm expecting wonders.
