Looks as though I'll be staying home today. I think my walk from two nights ago was a major factor in my becoming sick: that night was cooler than I'd expected. I may also be pushing myself too hard by doing these long walks after almost ten months of no walking. I feel it in my feet, too, lately: I could, in theory, walk all the way out to Hanam City (25-26K), but I'd be hurting by the end if my current aches are any indication.
So I've made the command decision to stay home. Today wouldn't have been a work day, anyway, because it would have been a 1.5-hour subway ride out to Incheon, a 1.5-hour ride back, and an hour or so in the restaurant—a goodly chunk of a normal work day. I hope my boss and coworker still go to the place and have a hearty lunch; I would have liked to join them, but I'll make it out there myself at some later date.
It's a shame to be sick, though, because I'd originally planned on doing some errands after lunch. Now, instead, I'm basically in bed, under the covers, and feeling shitty. I ought to be good by Monday, though, so I won't have missed any work.
Right—back to bed.
Hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I've reached a point where staying in bed hurts my back, but standing up and walking around doesn't feel much better.
ReplyDeleteDamn, that sucks having to miss the lunch, but it sounds like you were in no condition to enjoy it anyway. I didn't realize the commute to Incheon was so long.
ReplyDeleteIf it hurts to lie down and stand up, maybe it's time to consider a recliner.
Hope you feel better soon!
