John Williams at his oddest

I had bought the soundtrack CD for "The Phantom Menace" back when it came out, and there was one track on that CD that immediately struck me as the most un-John Williams-ish track on the whole album. The piece is short and unearthly; it's almost devoid of Williams's usual tropes, but you can hear some vaguely familiar stuff happening in the background. Give it a listen and feel weirded out. I had a similar feeling when I found out that "Good Will Hunting" had been scored by Danny Elfman. No way.

  1. Made me think of the scariest movie I ever saw as a kid--"The Night of the Living Dead."
