I've been off my insulin for eight days, and I've noticed some positive changes: I've begun losing weight again, postprandial angina has lessened, and I generally feel better. I realize all of this is just temporary given the underlying condition of heart failure, but a temporary good is better than no good at all.
I'd never wanted to be put on insulin, anyway, and given this morning's fasting-glucose reading of 80 (fantastic) despite the lack of insulin to keep my blood sugar down, I think the meds are all I need. I'm gonna tell my doctor that at the end of this month, too.
