Dave's ESL Cafe is now showing two more summer-camp ads—one a camp sponsored by Dongshin University in Naju (southwest corner of South Korea, just below Gwangju) and offering W2 million to teach for 11 days from 7/31 to 8/13; the other a camp sponsored by Sookmyung Women's University and paying W2.695 million for a ten-day camp (obviously the better offer in terms of pay and location) running from 7/27 to 8/7. Either of these camps would give me a crucial financial boost, but both are camps. For kids. And on top of not wanting to teach kids, I also have no experience teaching at such camps. So while part of me is sorely tempted, another part of me thinks I'll just muck things up and experience ten or eleven days of hell. Not for me.
If you've ever taught at one of these camps, feel free to tell me how wrong I am and how I need to be open-minded and practical. Otherwise... keep your peace.
