your must-read for the day

What gives the reactionaries the room to operate and to flex their muscles is, however, the pusillanimity of many so-called liberals, their unwillingness to stand up for basic liberal principles, their fear of causing offence, their reluctance to call so-called community leaders to account.

Kevin, if you aren't watching this, you really need to be. Besides being top-notch storytelling, it does actually relate in part to this post. But the real meat of it is how it looks into the criminal aspects of religion and the evolutionary fluke that is the human animal.

I've never been a big fan of the two leads, but they both deserve Emmy Awards for their work here, and there are still 5 episodes left to air.

I did see this preview, and the series looks pretty badass.

"the series looks pretty badass." I'd have to say that is one hell of an understatement after watching the first three episodes.

It's so good that I was forced to track down the creator's novel, Galveston, to read before it hits the big screen.

Definitely give the series a shot (there will be at least 2 limited episode seasons) and think about what a joke Matthew 5:5 truly is.
