I actually hesitate to write a bona fide post about this and would prefer to hide the real story here in the comments section.
ReplyDeleteThe gentleman I had initially worked with—who is also X's boss—wrote to say "Sorry it didn't work out with X." He then said, shockingly, "X isn't representative of our company." While I'm sure he meant that by way of reassurance, his claim also sounded as if he were throwing his subordinate under the bus by distancing himself from her. I would have expected him to close ranks with her rather than extend an olive branch to me. Strange goings-on.
The gentleman wrote that he wishes to continue to work with me, but I'm not sure what to make of the current situation.
