did she move?

I call her the "spider-usurper" because this lady took over the spot originally occupied by an American-style orb-weaver. But of you're really observant, you'll have noticed that she's shifted her residence in relation to that blue sign. At least, I think she's moved over. Maybe this is a completely different spider. I'll have to scrutinize her markings to make sure. Assuming this is the same spider, I now have an answer to John McCrarey's question about whether spiders can take over other spider's webs. If this is indeed the same spider-usurper, then the answer is a big yes. And that would make her a usurper twice over, for the web she took over this time is that of a fellow Joro spider—a Korean orb-weaver. For shame!

ADDENDUM: checked and confirmed: it's the same spider. When I compared this pic with a previous one, the markings matched perfectly. You bitch! Espèce de salope!

  1. It's almost as if the web is Native American and the spider is a European colonist. Shame!
