Several days ago, a train carrying hazardous materials derailed at the town of East Palestine, Ohio. I don't recall seeing any news about this, but here we are. The derailment was an immense environmental disaster requiring extensive cleanup and displacing the residents of an entire town. To me, this is a further argument for why we need to send things like hazardous materials and oil via pipelines: so as to avoid precisely this kind of environmental fuckup. If you love the environment, you'll vote to make pipelines.
