It's getting quite cool at night finally. I sleep with a window open and stopped using my moldy A/C weeks ago. And during the day, the sun—called by various names in Korean as Hae/해 or Taeyang/태양—might be shining powerfully after a rain like yesterday's, but at this time of year, that angry ball of fire has lost its teeth. We've reached the Walk Outside During the Daytime part of the year, and I want to make the most of it.
Meantime, a gorgeous fall day like today takes me back to my youth. Largely thanks to the American school system, which begins in September in Virginia, I associate optimistic beginnings with fall. A day like today makes me look up at the sky with renewed hope and vigor. I almost feel like a kid again.
Tonight's walk ought to be awesome. And cool—literally cool.
Can't wait for the big walk.
Keep us posted on tonight's walk. Hope the foot is okay.
