Adam Olinger roasts the 1964 classic "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" special that was already a decade old by the time I was old enough to watch it. One criticism Adam makes is one I heard a long time ago, and it has stayed with me for years: on the Island of Misfit Toys, why exactly is the female rag doll a misfit? (Adam muses that it may be because she's a redhead—ha ha.) Again, Adam's just doing this for fun and not to make a serious point, but I still found myself wincing at some of his criticisms. This one is a cherished classic for me, almost sacred, with Burl Ives's comforting narrator's voice and a lively story about embracing your uniqueness and finding your place in the world.
