I normally get to work late and leave late, but today is election day in South Korea, and we all have the day off. As an F-4 visa holder, I think I'm able to vote in local elections, but not in national ones, so I basically get a day off with nothing to do.
I thought, last night, that I would go to the local multiplex today to see "The Batman," currently #1 in Korean theaters, but this morning, when my alarm went off at the ungodly hour of 7:50 a.m., I suddenly realized that I'm actually not all that keen to see it. This is going to sound really superficial, but I can't get past Robert Pattinson's moppy, floppy hairdo, which I find utterly inappropriate for Bruce Wayne, a battle-hardened, possibly psychotic man bent on solving crimes with a combination of fists and brains and tech. In my mind, Bruce Wayne's hair is always high and tight—none of this emo bullshit.
No disrespect to Robert Pattinson: I loved his work in "The Lighthouse." He's obviously grown far beyond his "Twilight" days. But his look for Bruce Wayne? No. Just no.
And I'm up early to leave this comment.
ReplyDeleteI know nothing about Batman, other than a friend who is really into these movies gave the current film two thumbs up. He didn't mention the hair thing though.
