the attempt

Tonight, I'm going to try my hand at making the "gourmet sausage rolls" that those nutty British guys made on Sorted Food, a YouTube-based, UK-based cooking show starring four school friends, three of whom are there more or less to clown around, and one of whom—Ben—became an actual, bona fide chef.

I went to Itaewon's (disturbingly yet unsurprisingly overpriced) High Street Market today to gather most of the supplies I'd need. One of the staffers, a young Russian lady who spoke impressive English, proved very helpful. I laid a few Russian phrases on her; she complimented my "natural" (so she said) pronunciation, but little does she know that I've been doing Russian accents since at least college, back when my freshman-year roommate was a Russian major. He's the guy who taught me everything I know.

So here goes nothing. Expect photos of my evil handiwork soon.

  1. You can try the real thing at a pie shop in Gwanghwamun...Fat Pie opposite Exit 8 of Gwanghwamun Station sells sausage rolls in addition to various meat pies.
