awwww...

You'll recall that I spent Christmas Eve with my Korean buddy JW and his family. JW's daughter, MJ, has to write a sort of journal for school, and JW happened to see a recent entry in which she wrote about Christmas. Even if you don't read Korean, you'll have noticed the name "Kevin" in the middle of all that hangeul. MJ wrote about the gifts she and her brother got from her "foreign ajeossi," who speaks Korean "really well." (Hey, she said it, not me.) After listing her gifts (I think she liked the stuffed animals best), she wrote that she had named her new animals. All in all, she'd had a good time with my visit. JW saw the entry, snapped the above photo, and passed it along to me. We just won't tell MJ that her private thoughts have now been exposed to the public. Sssshhhh.

It won't be long before you might want to give a gift that seems to have been tailor made for you, Biblios. A gift that everyone can enjoy together. Well, those who would have enjoyed life in a medieval monastery surrounded by sacred books or toiling away one's life as a scribe or illustrator on scrolls and manuscripts. But beware the devil...err...bishop!
