Thanksgiving is coming

I normally rassle up a large Thanksgiving meal for my team every November (the 23rd this year—next week). This means I need to hit up the local John Cook Deli Meats for turkey breast, which nowadays I have to pre-order. (Last I checked, they don't sell whole turkeys, not that I could cook one in my tiny oven.) So I'll be heading down the street to the local John Cook this evening to see whether that's even possible. Last year or the year before, John Cook was saying they needed a two-week window for such orders, but maybe they can expedite the turkey breast this year, or maybe I misheard or misremembered what they'd said.

I still haven't decided on the rest of the menu. I normally go for the standard suburban classics, i.e., gravy, stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, peas or green beans, corn, biscuits/buns/rolls, cranberry sauce, and some sort of pie. I'm probably going to make the bulk of those things over the weekend, then schlep them bit by bit over to the office on Sunday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (I'm meeting a bud for dinner on Monday, so that day is a write-off). I only hope my Korean coworker doesn't throw my food in the garbage this time.
