Be an ugly American outside of America and see how far that gets you:
Don't put up with the nonsense:
I know I wouldn't last a day working customer service in the States if I had to put up with someone yelling at me that I'd just misgendered them. I'd always have a baseball bat or a sledgehammer nearby for such people, and that would be my last day at work as well as my first day in prison. Even before all this bullshit started, my dad used to tell stories of obnoxious customers when he was a ticket agent for Northwest Airlines. How he was able to remain calm and collected through all the abuse he suffered, I'll never know. I don't credit my dad with much, but I'll give credit where credit is due. He survived an environment that would have thoroughly defeated me.
