review coming in a couple weeks

Season 2 of "Reacher" is almost over: only two episodes left out of eight. Episode 5 is the one where Reacher and his unit all perform horrible salutes except for Neagley (Maria Sten, who's not even American—she's Danish and beating us at our own salute game!).

Expect a review in a couple of weeks.

  1. This puny season has been quite the letdown down after the first. Plus, calling 8 episodes a season doesn't seem right especially as "Slow Horses" just finished a 5 episode season. Back in the early days of television, seasons ran 39 episodes. Some shows even aired simultaneously on TV and radio.

I guess some of my disappointment with the TV program comes from the casting though as I've read all the books, even the lackluster latest ones written by the new author of the series.

  2. Yeah, at least "24" had 24 episodes for most of its run... until that final half-season with the time jump.

I'm finding "Reacher" Season 2 to be watchable, but it's far less faithful to its book than Season 1 was to its book. "Watchable" doesn't mean "as good as Season 1," though. I agree with you that this has been an inferior season.

  3. Have you seen "The Americans?" Since you lived through the 80s, I highly recommend it, especially the religious and atheist aspects of the U.S. vs. U.S.S.R. spying game. Oliver Stone even wrote the story for one of the Sandinista episodes. Only problem was a coke machine that took dollar bills in 1982.
