With the Star Trek franchise's somewhat inconsistent history, two movies rise above the rest for me: (1) "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan" and (2) "Star Trek: First Contact." Both are revenge tales, but in one case, a villain seeks revenge against the captain of the Enterprise, and in the other case, the captain seeks revenge against a villain. Here's Dave Cullen singing the praises of "First Contact," and I totally agree with him:
This is also a chance to point out that Jonathan Frakes, who cut his teeth on some episodes of "The Next Generation" on TV before helming this film, is a really talented movie director.
