ululate!

Bizarro director David Lynch died a few days ago, on January 15. He was 78. In an exchange last August, he mentioned how he was suffering from emphysema, another condition that comes back to bite certain ex-smokers. He had a background as a painter, which led to his hosting many exhibitions over the years. I know Lynch best for his movies "Wild at Heart" (with a hilarious death scene for Willem Dafoe), "Blue Velvet" (with a hilarious sex scene for Dennis Hopper), "Eraserhead" (with a disgusting blood-and-foam spewing scene involving a humanoid fetus or baby), and 1984's infamous "Dune" (with hilariously bad special effects and acting throughout), which has arguably become a so-bad-it's-good cult classic.* I never watched a single episode of "Twin Peaks" on TV, nor did I see the related movie "Fire Walk with Me." I sincerely hope Lynch isn't remembered for "Dune," which I admit I have a bit of a soft spot for, but which is basically a massive turd.

RIP.

*Some Lynchistas will argue the film is so good, it's good.
