how sad

I just missed a fireworks show. The entire Lotte World Tower was ablaze with fireworks, which I heard while I was cooking food for the coming week. I managed to look out my window—which provides a perfect view of the tower—and witness maybe the final 10 or 20 seconds of the show, which ended with an orgasmic burst of fireworks off every corner of the tower, then a huge red flash of the word "KOREA" in Roman letters—then finis.

I wonder what the occasion was. Was this linked to the cherry-blossom festivals?

Ah: here's the answer. The tower is celebrating... itself.
