sumthin's goin' on

So this is happening:

It looks as though most of the front walkway and greenery of my building have all been ripped out, presumably to be replaced by something better (cough). Here's a second shot that includes a peek at the building's front entrance:

I assume this will all be done by summer. Frankly, I didn't even notice that this was going on because I only rarely use the front entrance these days: when I leave for work to catch a taxi, I go out a side door, and when I use the subway to come back in the evening, I walk in through the B1 entrance. So this is all new to me.

If I remember to, I'll take an "after" picture when this is done.
