not the San Fran that I remember

The shitholeification of San Francisco continues.

Just depressing all around.

My fading memories of a trip to San Francisco years and years ago may have become rose-tinted over time, but I don't recall whole sections of the city being covered in human shit and drug needles. I know a lot of films from the 70s made it a point to showcase how violent our big cities were back then, with New York and San Francisco among the worst offenders. But Hollywood portrayals aside, my own memories of San Francisco are pleasant. And I know that, even now, there are people invested in hyping the image of San Fran as a food and tourism mecca, but the mask has fallen off, and no amount of happy-happy propaganda can rehabilitate the city's current, leprous face.
