In the past, Joe Biden—full of empty bravado—liked to challenge people to pushup contests as part of his supposedly macho image.
Here's a video of Vivek Ramaswamy actually cranking out thirty pushups among the hoi polloi. This was labeled a "battle," but his "competitor" stopped at thirty as well, so if this was merely to see whether Vivek could drop and do thirty, I guess Vivek and his "competitor" won. This came off to me as more of a test of Vivek's physical vigor. There's plenty of video of him dealing civilly with hecklers (he often gives them the mike*), playing classical piano (nice Asian stereotype there, my man!), laying out his points clearly and methodically, making the occasional grandiose claim, and yes, blasting out pushups like a champ.

*Sometime years ago, the abbreviation for microphone went from mike to mic, and I have no idea why. Call me a crotchety old fart, but I refuse to change with the times on this one. To me, mic sounds like "Mick." Unpleasant and wrong.
