With Vivek Ramaswamy having done more Iowa campaign events than every other candidate combined, you'd think there'd be a big payoff for him, but if the following "final poll" is any indication, Iowa is going to Trump in a big way, and Ramaswamy is a puny fourth. It's a shame he hasn't caught on; I think a lot of conservative Christians can't bring themselves to get behind a practicing Hindu because, in their minds, they still conflate church and state: to them, a politician is also a religious leader of sorts (this despite Jesus' "Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's, and unto God what is God's" quote, contrasting church and state*).
IOWA: Trump’s lead (+28) is the Biggest Recorded lead in any final pre-GOP caucus the history of the Des Moines Register poll. https://t.co/H3A3nLHRLI pic.twitter.com/LVC5lo5R38

Vivek seems to have made clear that he's not running for vice president, so if he's to be taken literally, he won't be on Trump's ticket as a faithful second. I saw some interesting comments about how it'd be nice to see Vivek run rings around Kamala Harris in their VP debates, but I don't see that happening. What if Trump picked Tulsi Gabbard? It'd be hilarious to see Tulsi go after Kamala in a Round 2 version of their previous tussle. And what if Vivek and Tulsi ran together as the Indian Heritage Ticket in 2028? If they won, hell, I'd make chicken biriyani or butter chicken to celebrate.
The real Iowa Caucus results will appear Monday night at close to 9 p.m. EST. I won't see the results until sometime Tuesday morning, Seoul time. It's always this way.

*In case you think I'm pulling that idea out of my ass, no less a scholar than Bernard Lewis (Islam and the West) talked about this scriptural moment as a possible justification for the later idea of treating the church and the state as separate.
