am I being throttled?

My stat numbers have barely moved since I last wrote about them: just 47 hits for the day thus far. I'm beginning to think this isn't natural—that I'm being throttled by Blogger or something. Maybe Blogger has had enough of the rightie memes I've published, or maybe I've been targeted as yet another purveyor of "disinformation." I've never had stat numbers this low, so I'm beginning to suspect shenanigans. Well, if that's the case, then I'll wear my depressed numbers as a badge of honor. Kevin the Throttled! Bow before me!

  1. How do they go about "throttling?" I'm guessing you mean by eliminating your blog's search results?

Well, I don't know how much of your readership comes via a search, but they will never be able to stop your fans from visiting as often as we please.

It is pretty scary to think what Google could do if they wanted to get really nasty--calling contrary opinions "disinformation" and shutting down the blog altogether. We really need the courts to step in and stop this corporate censorship now.

  2. You have definitely been throttled in the Yahoo search engine. A search there for Big Hominid's Hairy Chasms had no direct link to your blog in the first several pages (I didn't look further). Several references to your blog in links to other blogs mentioning you (including mine). Seems very fishy.

On Google, you come up first with a link to your August 29 post.
