PJW on Salman Rushdie

As PJW notes, the left isn't exactly tripping over itself to condemn the stabbing attack on author Salman Rushdie. PJW also brings up the change in attitude that occurred in the aftermath of the Charlie Hebdo massacre: condemnation first, then woke support for the killers because the cartoonists were "asking for it." This woke attitude then led to the death of free speech across the West, to the point where UK police are arresting people for posting "edgy memes." The UK: rightly drops the mask policy, wrongly squashes free expression.

But as some rightie commentators have noted, Rushdie himself has long been something of a wokie, too. Are righties therefore agreeing with lefties that he had it coming?
