is TDS-ridden Chris Christie dropping out of the GOP race?

Some thought he would carry his animus against Donald Trump to the bitter end, but it may not be so: Chris Christie is reportedly dropping out of the presidential race. If that's true, I have no doubt that he's still in reality-denial mode.

Headline:

BREAKING: Chris Christie dropping out of race: report

Chris Christie is reportedly dropping out of the 2024 Republican primary race.

The news comes following days of speculation that he would soon be throwing in the towel amid pressure from New Hampshire Governor Sununu and others to give up his pursuit of the presidency.

According to journalist Mark Halperin, sources familiar with the matter said that Christie's campaign will be making an announcement at 5 pm EST.

As WMUR reports, during an interview with CNN on Tuesday, Sununu claimed that members of Christie's leadership team were "having those discussions with him," referring to dropping out.

"He has no ground game," the governor added. "He's not even trying, even in the next two or three days, he could be here doing 10 events a day — he's doing like two ... He's running out of resources, he's not campaigning in any other state. I think those discussions are happening."

Christie fired back against the governor, saying, "It pains me to say this, but Gov. Sununu is a liar."

My take: this "report" amounts to little more than speculation, and it's frustrating when journalists on either side of the aisle forget themselves and fail to report brute facts—something that hasn't happened in a long time, if ever.

I'm much more interested in the latest Hunter Biden news. (Here, too.) Gate-crashing a hearing, then suddenly leaving—these are the actions of an unstable individual. The question is: does he have what it takes to do the honorable thing and commit seppuku?

UPDATE: NBC* seems to confirm that Christie is dropping out.
