John,
I have questions. This was the thing that confused me when I saw your photo and caption: am I looking at one home or two? If it's only one home, does it have two entrances, upper and lower? Or am I looking at two homes with two separate entrances?
Sorry about the really shitty arrows. |
Ah, I was thinking of a completely different photo and scenario. Now, I understand your confusion.
ReplyDeleteIt is technically one house with two levels (not counting The Rite Spot On The Roof). The basement level is like a two-bedroom, two-bath apartment. That's where my helpers stay. And yes, it does have a separate entrance from the upper floor, although there is also staircase access to the basement from inside the upstairs portion of the house.
I say it is one house because I have one lease and have inside access to the basement. I can't remember the last time I've been down there, though. On the other hand, I was surprised that I get separate electric and water bills for the upstairs and downstairs areas. I assume that it was designed so the basement could be rented out separately as an apartment.
How very observant of you. I'm impressed!
