By a single vote, the GOP-controlled House of Representatives has voted to impeach Alejandro Mayorkas, Joe Biden's asleep-at-the-switch secretary of Homeland Security, and a major player in the US-Mexico border crisis. The matter now moves to the Dem-dominated Senate, where Mayorkas will undoubtedly survive impeachment (as Biden would have had he been impeached). I suppose the purpose of this move was, once again, to give the right a chance to Express Extreme Disapproval while actually doing nothing. Another possible purpose might have been to get certain evidence and testimony on record, but since we've already established that the right is incapable of decisive, effective action, the left-Dems will continue to suffer no real consequences for all of their dung-flinging. So I don't expect much.
In fact, I expect the usual nothing.
And all of this theater is on the taxpayers' dime.

NB: Mayorkas was born a Cubano who really ought to have known better. His people are among the most right-leaning of Latinos, fully and painfully aware of the ugly fruits of leftism. So what happened to Mayorkas? I see, too, that Mayorkas never served in the military, which may partly explain his utter lack of a sense of urgency about the border crisis. I say we tie him to a pole at the border and leave him to the narcotraficantes y traficantes de personas.
Yep, it's pointless and is nothing more than a distraction. We are all focused on the top of the R ticket, but damn, we need to elect a Congress with some balls and the gumption to facilitate real change. Time is running out.
