health update

It's Sunday. No rales last night, but still some shortness of breath. I'm feeling better overall; I'm drinking green tea, which is not my favorite, and sucking down that red ginseng, which is also not my favorite. I might see about ordering some doraji tea via Coupang—whatever witchcraft might keep the heart-and-lung demons away. No walks or anything planned for today—just rest and some cooking (I have apple fritters to make, and I have to deal with a lot of leftover okra). Tonight, I'll be Skyping with my buddy Mike, my "brother from another mother," as he likes to say. Without violating his privacy, I'll say he's been dealing with some health issues, too, but he's walking at least five days a week now, which is a good thing.

Also on the agenda for today: a bit of grocery shopping plus a haircut. Neither activity demands a lot of effort, so I ought to be okay while doing them.

Starting tomorrow, I'll begin distance walking again, assuming my lungs and heart don't relapse. Just an hour to begin with, then two hours, then three hours. Ideally, this will happen in the early morning every day. I need my late mornings and early evenings to do other things like chores and personal projects.

Hope you're having a day.

  1. Good news! I hope you are back to normal soon. Even a short walk is a step in that direction.
