seen during last night's walk

Right as I got to the Han River during last night's walk, I saw this fellow traveler:

Korean river crab

The photo is too closely cropped to offer a sense of scale, but the crab's body was only a couple inches across. I took a video of it, but it didn't move, and my filming was too jittery, so I deleted the video. All you get is this photo. Sorry.

I had to rest at several points during the walk, which started off with a bit of chest pain. I'm trying not to push myself, but it's like driving a car with a velocity limiter set at a very low speed. I also cut last night's walk short (only did the 7-8K route right up to the Han) because I knew I had to get back and finish my review of "Picard," Season 2.

I'll try to make these walks longer. Need to be ready for the fall.

I was once out cycling at night snd in that short section between the end of the Ara and the Haengju Bridge there were hundreds of crabs scuttling across the bike path.

The invasion is proceeding as planned.

Apologies for the temporary absence in comments. Have been wrestling with a major project at work. Enjoyed all your recent posts and have much to say. What a great photo. Not easy to spot the local wildlife, even riverside.

Wouldn't worry too much about the residual chest pains if you're still walking extensive distances. Everything in good time! This too shall pass.

I don't know if I'd call 7-8K an extensive distance, but it feels long because I'm walking so slowly. Give me a few months to get back some vigor. Recovery, this time, is taking longer than it did three years ago.

I always laugh at the difference in perspectives--An 8K walk is a hard day's work for me and just a warmup for you.

The important thing is you are out there working on it. You'll get there!

John Mac,

But your walks are way hillier.
