Bill of Bill's Comments comments in my comments section re: Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger:
Cardinal Ratzinger would undo what Martin Luther achieved 500 years ago, the removal of the church between man and God. I believe that much of the power of the Renaissance and the resultant explosion of accomplishment and knowledge was due to the release from the RC protection racket. Now that man had to be honest with himself over his shortcomings and misdeeds, he could also be honest about his virtues and accomplishments. Self-worth was not slave to an ecclesiastical judgement.
On a personal note, I'm happy to see that people are actually using my comments feature.
