Yesterday was a good day after I left the hospital. I pigged out without shame, probably regaining some weight and totally destroying my blood sugar (we're back to salads today). I also got two packages I've been expecting: (1) a new grindworm for the meat-grinder attachment of my stand mixer, and (2) an 80-pack box of the cheap, cucumber-scented soap I use in both my bathroom and kitchenette. I've got a few more items on the way, but all in all, I'm happy to have gotten these two things, especially the grindworm. Ever since I damaged the previous one, I've been worried that, the next time I make burgers or sausage, I'm going to have little bits of plastic in the end product. No more worries, now, and the new grindworm fits perfectly, with only slight aesthetic differences between it and the previous one.
Sometimes, a slow-news day is a good day.
