same as the old boss?

We'd like to think that Elon Musk's takeover of Twitter was going to lead to a revolution, but once again, the New York Post was "locked out" of Twitter.

Headline:

NY Post Locked Out Of Twitter Again

Evidently acceptable journalism means NOT reporting facts that the liberals at Twitter don’t like. The NY Post found that out once again yesterday.

It was great while it lasted.

Twitter once again locked out The Post on Thursday in a stunning replay of the epic blunder the social media giant admittedly made over the revelation of Hunter Biden’s infamous laptop.

The company’s Kafkaesque move came after The Post tweeted out a story about Twitter’s deletion of more than 5,000 tweets about a planned “Trans Day of Vengeance” protest in front of the US Supreme Court on Saturday.

It prevented The Post from posting any tweets to its main account, which has 2.8 million followers.

The suppression of The Post came even as multiple other news outlets have reported on Twitter’s decision to scrub tweets and retweets that featured an image promoting Saturday’s event.

Wow. Bold move by Twitter even as the scrutiny of the same has a very VERY big spotlight shining on it! What was so problematic? Why just the NY Post reporting that Twitter is scrubbing tweets about a planned protest named the Trans Day Of Vengeance.

Twitter has removed thousands of tweets about a “Trans Day of Vengeance” protest set for Saturday outside the US Supreme Court, drawing outrage from conservatives who have also been sharing the event poster to condemn the demonstration.

Ella Irwin, Twitter’s head of trust and safety, said in a tweet Wednesday that the company automatically removed upwards of 5,000 tweets and retweets of a poster promoting the event.

“We do not support tweets that incite violence irrespective of who posts them. ‘Vengeance’ does not imply peaceful protest. Organizing or support for peaceful protests is ok,” Irwin wrote.

Yet because those organizers were insistent that the protests, which are still planned for Saturday are only going to be ‘vehemently peaceful’ liberals at Twitter dove into full, protect the transgender agenda mode.

I generally like what Musk has been doing, but I'm also something of a Musk skeptic. Tesla, for example, strikes me as a misguided foray into EVs—something we as a culture simply aren't ready for. Then there's Musk's involvement with China: he has facilities in Shanghai and Xinjiang which, given China's repressive nature, would seem to indicate that Musk isn't quite the free-speech partisan he makes himself out to be. Musk certainly talks a good game about free speech in the West, but he should be advocating for free speech everywhere.

So I'm not totally surprised to find out that Twitter is still being its censorious self. It's just sad to see that the nonsense continues no matter who the big boss is.
