Tim Pool on Matt Walsh debating trans folks

I've made pretty clear that I don't think a person with gender dysphoria is necessarily insane, but the right is pushing the matter hard. I'll concede that there are many cases where trans people espouse insane points of view; Matt Walsh is well known for traveling the country and challenging people to define what a woman is, and a lot of trans people have revealed that they have no coherent idea what a woman is. (Of course, incoherence isn't necessarily the same thing as insanity although it might, in some cases, be a marker for insanity.*) In the video below, Tim Pool provides commentary about two encounters that Matt Walsh had. The second encounter is with a trans EMT, whom Matt challenges by asking how the EMT would treat a biological male who identifies as a woman and says s/he is having a miscarriage. The exchanges we see are painful and funny to watch, and they do lend themselves to the idea that trans people are just insane, but I still contend that a person can experience dysphoria and be utterly rational, as can be seen via the usual tests for rationality—What day of the week is it? Who's president of the United States? What's 2 + 2? and so on.

*Then again, I'm also on record as saying that insanity and rationality are not opposites, which is why I'm opposed to the insanity defense: insane people can be very rational as they plan their elaborate crimes. So maybe I need to sit down and really think through my position more. After all, if insanity and rationality aren't opposites, then the tests for rationality mentioned above are no guarantee that a person is sane. Hm.
