Walk Thoughts #12: visualized

Not very far, it seems, but here's the path I biked. I took a slightly different way back, but it came out to about the same distance. As you see, if you double the distance, I got tantalizingly close to 30 miles.

Man I'd love to cycle the Korean peninsula. Wonder how long it would take a lazy biker like myself? 30 km would be tops for me. Plus rest days every couple of days.... that could be fun.

Yeah, I think if I had done 30 km instead of 30 miles, my ass wouldn't have screamed so much.

More to the point, though: Korea really is gorgeous once you get outside of the cities.

This is something that I have always wished the tourism promos would show more. They always make a big fuss about Seoul and how you can come and basically live the life of a K-drama protagonist. Not that Seoul isn't nice, but there's a lot more out there.

Charles,

In my fantasies, I'm independently wealthy and living in a huge place in Gyeongju, which is a fantastic—and fantastically walkable—city during the off-season. A good place for breathing deeply and appreciating the big sky, Asian-style.
