Yeah, the debt we owe those who serve and fight is unmeasurable. Some wounds never heal, and many of these combat vets suffer in silence. I recall seeing Forrest Gump in the theatre with a Vietnam veteran friend. I was oblivious during the movie, but afterward, I could see something was wrong. I asked if he liked the film, and he said the Vietnam battle scene had taken him back to a place he didn't want to be. I didn't have a clue what living with those emotional scars must be like.
