China's economy = 60% smaller than thought?

I'm not sure I completely understand the argument that China's economy is 60% smaller than normally reckoned. I mean, such a thought doesn't surprise me since we all know the CCP exaggerates its numbers, but what I'm saying is that I don't quite get how this specific conclusion was arrived at. I may have to watch this video several times.

And of course, I need to be more wary of triumphalist news about China. Remember the real-estate crisis that was supposed to presage a total collapse of the Chinese economy by mid-September? Well, it's November now, and China is still chugging along, however weakly. So all economic news about China should be taken with a mountain of salt.
