the GOP now controls the House of Representatives

This has actually been known for a while now, but a day or so ago, it became official: the US House of Representatives is now controlled by a Republican majority. The immediate good news is that, come January, we no longer have to look at Nancy Pelosi's stupid, senile, lying face (until she resurfaces—older, uglier, and more senile—in a few years). The new Speaker of the House could be Kevin McCarthy, but he's not there yet as he merely got nominated for the post. Whether a GOP takeover means Republican legislative victories is yet to be seen. The same GOPe/neocon-versus-MAGA war that began under Trump is going to continue, given that quite a few rightie winners, this time around, are from the GOPe/neocon crowd, while others are more MAGA in tendency. So the internal rift in the GOP means that Republicans might spend a lot of time being petty and undermining each other instead of furthering an agreed-upon conservative agenda. GOPe/neocons on the right have benefitted from war, globalism, and kowtowing to extreme-left talking points. Ideally, the best solution would be to burn these elements out with a flamethrower, then replace them with nothing but MAGA-heads. But the reality is that you work with what you have, so we'll see how this goes.

Speaking of GOPe monkeys who undermine the MAGA agenda, Mitch McConnell has apparently retained his position as minority leader in the Senate. Bad news, as far as I'm concerned. He's another one who most definitely deserves a flamethrower to the face.

I'm heartened, at least, that the House under the GOP will now be able to conduct its own investigations into all sorts of Democrat shenanigans. Let's start with voting in Arizona (which is a shit-show), but let's also not forget Hunter Biden's laptop (expect plenty of FBI stonewalling and innocent, wide-eyed looks—Who, us? Helping Democrats? Obstructing justice?) and this latest FTX/cryptocurrency scandal. There's plenty of other stuff to investigate, but the problems I just mentioned will do for the moment.
