My Korean coworker reassures me that this doesn't count as burned:
I ate one burned section, though, and it didn't taste as good as I'd hoped: it wasn't pleasantly caramelized so much as out-and-out burned.
Below, I tried to get a shot before the ice cream fell off the pie, but I was too late:
Don't affect the taste none.
All in all, the pie was good except for that one spot on the crust. I'm still kicking myself for not having checked the oven's settings more carefully.
