men getting pregnant

I've grown interested in the question of men getting pregnant. So many people on the left seem convinced that it's possible and, in fact, has already happened. Are they all hallucinating? To be clear, I'm talking about biological males, with their XY chromosomes and male physiology, somehow gestating and giving birth to viable children. With that criterion in mind, we can dismiss the case of Thomas Beatie, a trans man who became pregnant through artificial insemination. Beatie was born female and therefore had a natural uterus, making him a biological woman. Beatie gave birth to three children.

I did, however, dig up a 2019 article from the Indian Times Now News claiming that, in Australia, 22 men have given birth. However, as I read the article, I saw that it was talking about cases similar to that of Beatie's, cited above.

First of all, it’s important to understand that not all individuals who were assigned as male at birth (AMAB) identify as men. Similarly, some people who were assigned female at birth (AFAB) may identify as men - these people may be ‘transgender’ men or transmasculine people. The fact is that many AFAB folks who identify as men have reproductive organs required to carry a baby. Also, advances in medical technology are making it possible for AMAB individuals to carry a child.

In the case of AFAB folks, who have a uterus and ovaries and are on testosterone, menses usually stop within six months of starting hormone replacement therapy (HRT). A person will need to stop using testosterone in order to get pregnant. However, researchers are still unclear how effective testosterone use could be when it comes to preventing pregnancy. For instance, a 2013 survey reported that researchers didn’t find any significant differences in pregnancy between those who used testosterone and who didn’t use.

It may be noted that conception can occur in many ways, including sexual intercourse and through the use of assisted reproductive technologies (AST), as per Healthline.

Till date, there has been no record of AMAB individuals being pregnant, yet, some experts hope that uterus transplantations and other emerging technologies might make it possible for AMAB to become pregnant and give birth.

That last paragraph is the clincher. Work your way through all the PC language, and you see that no biological man has ever given birth. The search for true male pregnancy goes on.

To be clear, I suspect that, one day, we will indeed be able to perform some sort of procedure that will allow a baby to gestate safely inside a male body. God only knows what this will involve in terms of surgery and/or hormones. But that procedure doesn't exist today and probably won't for a long while. So for the moment, it's not at all transphobic to point out the simple fact that, as things stand, men can't have babies. It's ludicrous that this is even an issue. Sure, as science marches forward, sexuality will only become even more polymorphic, and when it does, I won't care. Humanity has taken hold of the reins of animal and plant evolution for centuries, so it's only natural that we'd eventually turn our controlling gaze toward our own bodies. Are we playing God in doing so? Probably. But I don't see any way to stop such progress, and frankly, I don't think it matters one way or the other unless you're talking about me or my family's future.
