let the recession begin!

Many would say the American recession began a while ago thanks to Biden's utter mismanagement of the economy, but today (Thursday, US east-coast time), an official report is likely to note a contraction in the economy for the second quarter in a row, which is the classic definition of an economic recession. The Biden administration has been at pains, over the past few weeks, to redefine what the word recession means, and/or to claim that a two-quarter contraction of the economy is not the most important factor to look at. In other words, it's the usual hand-waving and shifting of the goalposts to distract the stupid masses from the real problem.
