it's the end of the world as we know it, and I feel fine

If you're a crisis hound, now's your time, baby! Shinzo Abe just got assassinated; Sri Lanka's economy is collapsing (due to green policies and China's Belt and Road initiative), and the country is eating itself after months of protests; the Netherlands is in chaos as its farmers, using tractors and other gear, physically reject an EU-sanctioned policy to cut down on nitrogen fertilizers that will bankrupt smaller farms; America, with its own collapsing economy, is being led by a bunch of puppet masters who pretend Joetato Biden is in charge; Canada has turned into a tyrannical Trudeauvian superstate; Mexico continues to hemorrhage illegal immigrants and Chinese fentanyl across the southern border; the pandemic still rages across the world (at least in fearful people's minds), and there's the new omicron BA.5 variant (good for politicians, but not as virulent as the original alpha variant, i.e., nothing to worry about); global supply-chain problems are swelling painfully... I mean, really—after Trump's Abraham Accords, maybe it's time to consider a move to a stable region like the Middle East! Either that, or the preppers have been right all along, and it's time to dig into a mountainside with several years' worth of food and weapons.

Meanwhile, I don't expect American greenies to learn any lessons from the Netherlands and Sri Lanka's country-killing failures of green policy. The greenies are too stubborn and too ideologically committed, like kamikaze pilots who, instead of flying zeroes, are flying entire nations into the ground. I also don't expect Sri Lankans to learn the right lessons from their current crisis. Sri Lankans—mostly Buddhists—have traditionally leaned left. They're about to install a new coalition government now that their president and prime minister have stepped down. Frankly, I'm expecting Venezuela 2.0 down there. Joe Biden is, of course, too stupid and Alzheimer'ed to learn any lessons from his ongoing and multiplying failures, and Castro's son Trudeau, now twice infected with COVID, is heedlessly turning more and more Canadians into his enemies. Part of my brain is saying things can't get any worse, but an even-more-reptilian part of my brain is saying, Ha! This is only the beginning!

And yet, here I am, actually looking forward to a global crisis.
