walk #2

I walked about the same route again, out to the Jamshil Bridge, but from a slightly closer starting point, making it a slightly shorter walk—about 23,000 steps after subtracting the 1600-some steps walked just after midnight Wednesday morning. I also didn't do the staircases tonight; I'll be doing the stairs in my building tomorrow. Other stats: about 230 minutes' walking, and about 1,400 calories burned.

Below is a shot from along the Tan-cheon. What used to be an under-the-bridge bus parking lot is now fenced off. I wonder what new glory or horror will eventually appear. Doesn't look like much right now. As you see on the right side, we've got a concrete pylon and a lot of rebar. There are several such pylons (see subsequent photos), which makes me think the little elves are building a ramp or something. This will make the walk along the creek much noisier and a bit more like the final day of walking the Four Rivers trail to Busan's Nakdong River Estuary Barrage—lots of water and concrete on display.

A look back at more pylons:

I had to get some shots of this part of the trail, which is along the route back to my place. You can't see it, but the Tan-cheon is off to the left. We're coming up on a section that had been piled high with construction garbage and deadwood. It's mostly cleaned up now. First, have a look at some low-hanging tree branches:

All that's left of the construction work:

I think, yesterday, I was so pumped to be out and walking that I didn't feel particularly tired, but I felt it today. My feet were a bit achy, and my leg joints—knees, hips, ankles—all felt a bit creaky. My shoes were still damp from the previous day's rain, but it was a good walk all the same. As to how much I bled... well, that's the next post.
