I've noted before that I think of my buddy Mike and me as the open and closed parentheses for the July 20, 1969 moon landing. Mike was born in June, the month before the landing, and I was born in August, the month after the landing. So every birthday, Mike goes over the cliff before I do, which means, this year, that he's turning 54 first. Assuming the period of 50-53 is one's "early fifties," that makes 54-56 our "mid-fifties," so... welcome to your mid-fifties, buddy! I'll be joining you soon. Here's an old Photoshop I did years ago:

I'm sure Mike's wife and children won't mind.
Happy 54th Birthday, dude. Carry on.
