Tulsi Gabbard's big blunder

Tulsi Gabbard, a representative from Hawaii and a current candidate for the Democrat nomination to run against Donald Trump in 2020, is a dark-horse darling who is considered, by some in the alt-media, as one of the saner Dems on stage during the debates. She is, however, as capable of batshit-crazy utterances as the more extreme Dems running against her. Here's a post about her latest gaffe. Excerpt:

Tulsi Gabbard: "This current President is continuing to betray us. We were supposed to be going after al Qaeda, but over years now, not only have we not gone after al Qaeda ... our President is supporting al Qaeda."

Osama bin Laden’s son Hamza, who was his heir apparent to running al-Qaeda, is apparently dead.

United States officials aren’t saying much, even President Trump, except to confirm the death of Hamza bin Laden. (And if Trump is declining to comment on the details, then you know that something important must have happened.) This bin Laden son was not at the Abbottabad compound when the Navy SEALs came calling back in 2011. However, the United States wanted Hamza accounted for and out of the picture.

This news was breaking during the Democrat debate last night. And apparently, no one filled in the candidates on the news of the moment. Which led Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard to make a complete fool of herself.

Whoops. And the post continues:

With 20/20 hindsight, this looks like a pretty epic blunder.

Let’s not forget that Tulsi Gabbard should know all about terrorists, having hung out with Bashar al-Assad in Syria, AFTER he gassed his own people. She STILL won’t call him a “war criminal.” So despite landing a solid hit on Kamala Harris during the debate, Gabbard comes away looking like a complete idiot.

There are many things one can say about Donald Trump. That he supports al-Qaeda is NOT one of them.

"A pretty epic blunder," indeed. Trump drives people to say stupid things that, if those people are smart enough, they'll regret later.

ADDENDUM: Styx with a rather positive take on Tulsi:

My own problem with Tulsi Gabbard is what I see as her irrelevancy: her entire campaign is predicated on her strong anti-war stance. Problem is, Trump hasn't gotten us into any new wars in three years. So what exactly is Gabbard running against? The left has tried, since the beginning, to paint Trump as some kind of crazy warmonger with his finger on the button, but Trump himself has shown no warmongering tendencies at all. If anything, Trump's attitude and rhetoric have allowed certain conservatives to back away from the pro-war neocon stance and advocate a more pacifistic conservatism. Sorry, Tulsi, but you're fighting nothing.

  2. Yeah, I think she's pretty cute, and I suspect that's one reason she's getting a pass (as one of the "saner" Dems) from these mostly male alt-media commentators. They all want to bang her.
