Starting in eastern and central Europe and moving steadily westward to places like Italy and Germany, a huge storm dumped an enormous amount of water, leaving dozens dead and flooding everywhere, with many towns having to be evacuated. I wouldn't have known about this had I not been looking randomly at Wikipedia's front page. Wikipedia has an entry on 2024 Central European floods.
