Tracking down the above tweet on Twitter led to this:


I saw some tart replies to these tweets, to the effect of, "Oh, no, you don't! Don't you dare compare snitching in the time of the Nazis to snitching on someone getting a haircut! These days, if you snitch, you might be saving lives! In Nazi times, if you snitched, you'd be condemning people to death! Not the same thing at all!"

The people replying this way apparently fail to see the connection—how a slow erosion of liberties now can become a total collapse later.

  1. Yeah, and those people complaining about being compared to Nazis are very likely the same ones who compare Trump to Hitler. Hypocrites!
