someone please explain the joke to me

This video makes me laugh because it's silly on its surface, but there's apparently something else going on, maybe subtextually, that I'm just not getting. Can you explain the joke? Because I'm at a loss. Maybe the title is a clue: "The Hardest Man to Kill." Or maybe the explanation in the video's description might be helpful: "Hiring a hitman is one thing. Hiring hitmen repeatedly to take out the same man who somehow escapes every [assassination] attempt is widely considered a poor financial decision." I read the title and the explanation/setup, but I still don't get the humor. Is this purely an Aussie thing? Help!

My superficial reading is that the intended victim is turned on when the assassin attempts to kill him, causing the assassin to feel disgusted and to back off. I'm pretty sure that's not actually what's going on. Or is it?
